Alike Merlot, also the Cabernet arrived in Friuli at the end of the 19th century finding it as a perfect place to grow up and being fruitful. It is the second most popular red grape in Friuli after the Merlot. In our region most people like it pretty young to get the most of its intensity.
Cabernet Valchiarò is also good for ageing thanks to the long maceration which gives it a solid tannic mixture of flavours.
